5 common procedures

Early signs of aging are one of the top reasons many young adults find themselves feeling insecure about their looks. For some of us, it can be difficult to see our true beauty when it’s hidden underneath our perceived flaws. Preventative procedures are a great way to slow down and even eliminate signs of aging. In some cases, your preventative measures can even be completely non-invasive!

There are several plastic surgery procedures and facial treatments that can help prevent and delay the common signs of aging such as wrinkles, loose skin, and skin discoloration. Whether you’re looking to stop aging in its tracks, or just maintain your youthful appearance, receiving cosmetic surgery or medical facials is a great way to enhance your confidence and prevent aging.

HydraFacials

hydrafacialHydraFacials are one of the many non-invasive treatments popular with young adults,  social media gurus, and influencers alike – and for good reason! If you suffer from dry, dull skin, an uneven complexion, or acne, a HydraFacial can help take your skincare to the next level! At ACPS, HydraFacials go above and beyond compared to ones performed by a traditional esthetician. We use top-of-the line equipment and medical-grade products that only licensed medical professionals have access to, leaving you with smoother, softer, and brighter skin you’ll notice immediately after your treatment.

The HydraFacial treatment includes several steps. Our HydraFacial Specialist will start by cleansing, exfoliating, and extracting any impurities to clarify your skin. This creates a clean slate for hydration and rejuvenation. You’ll then be able to choose a booster, or a medical-grade serum, to target and treat your specific skin issues. Lastly, both red and blue light therapy are applied to the face. Red light therapy assists in collagen production and helps slow the aging process, while blue light therapy assists in acne prevention.

At APCS, we offer a variety of boosters that are only available to licensed MDs. DermaBoosters such as ZO Brightalive can help reduce the appearance of age spots and brown spots. ZO Rozatol addresses redness and creates a smoother appearance, while boosters like Skinceuticals help to firm, and tone skin, improving the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

Chemical Peels

One of the things we love about chemical peel treatments is the look of surprise on our clients’ faces when they get a glimpse of the final result! Chemical peels use a combination of skin-safe acids to loosen and peel away layers of dead skin, leaving you with a healthy new layer of skin. However, that isn’t the only thing chemical peels do. They also help remove fine lines, sun damage, age spots, and scarring.

There are several different types of chemical peels our clients can choose from. Generic brands offer standard rejuvenation, whereas name brand peels like the Obagi Blue Peel go deep to solve skin-related issues. These peels are safe,well-researched, and one of the many facial treatments approved by the FDA.

Lip Augmentation

One of the most common plastic surgery procedures with young adults is lip augmentation. There are several procedures that enhance the shape and size of lips, all with varying results. Some such as a lip flip, lip injections, and fat transfers provide a more natural look, whereas lip implants provide slightly more dramatic results. No matter which look you’re going for, our team will help you decide which procedure is right for you.

Out of all lip augmentation procedures, the lip flip is the easiest and least invasive. This procedure involves injecting Botox or Dysport into the muscles just above the upper lip. This cosmetic procedure allows the muscles to relax and the upper lip to roll outward – creating natural-looking plump lips. The results from a lip flip are immediate but only last a few months.

Lip filler or lip injections are another minimally invasive lip augmentation procedure. This process is non-surgical and involves injecting a dermal filler into the lips. The filler helps to reshape the lips and make them appear fuller. Results can last anywhere from a few months to a year, so maintaining the shape will require upkeep.

If you are looking for a more permanent lip augmentation solution, some young adults choose lip implants instead. Implants require small incisions on the lip where Dr. Fischer will insert a small silicone strip. For a lip implant, there are three sizes; 3mm, 4mm, and 5mm. During your consultation, you and Dr. Fischer will decide which size works best to achieve the look you’re hoping for!

Breast Augmentation

One of the most popular options for plastic surgery for young adults is breast augmentation. Breast augmentation helps increase the size of the breast and enhances shape, fullness, and firmness. How natural or dramatic the results depend on your personal preferences.

If you are looking to reshape your breasts without increasing their size, a breast lift is a great option. Breast lifts help your breasts retain a more youthful look by changing the shape without using implants. It can help to reverse the effects of aging, pregnancy, breastfeeding, dramatic weight changes, and good ole’ gravity.

Traditional breast augmentation uses the insertion of implants to augment and reshape breasts. This procedure is a great option if you’ve never been fully satisfied with the shape or size of your breasts, are undergoing a gender transition, or you’ve found that your breasts have changed due to pregnancy and breastfeeding, extreme weight loss, or simply gravity and aging.

No matter the procedure you choose, Dr. Fischer and her team at ACPS will work with you to determine the types of procedure, implant type, and placement so that you can feel confident!

Injectables and Fillers

When it comes to injectables and fillers, there are several options young adults can use to effectively combat the signs of aging or to soften their look. Filler treatments, most commonly using injectablesfillers such as Restylane, Voluma, and Sculptura, involve your medical professional using a small needle to inject soft and often gel-like substances, such as hyaluronic acid, under the skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin. Injectables, including Botox and Dysport, minimize facial muscles to prevent movement in ways that would create deep lines in your face leading to wrinkles, crows feet, marionette lines, and more.

Making these subtle changes can help you shift your self-image and feel comfortable in your own skin. If you’re interested in learning more about these popular procedures, request a consultation today or give us a call at 410-308-4700.
