What is Dysport? 

Dysport is an injectable made up of botulinum toxin type A that is used to address fine lines and wrinkles. It’s FDA-approved to address moderate to severe frown lines between the brows, forehead, and crow’s feet.

It works by temporarily stopping the facial muscles from contracting, allowing fine lines and wrinkles to smooth out and leaving you with a youthful appearance. 

Candidates for Dysport 

Anyone at any age is a candidate for Dysport.

It’s also the perfect treatment for those who are unable or unwilling to undergo invasive procedures and don’t want to deal with significant downtime. To determine if you are an ideal candidate for Botox, it is recommended that you schedule a consultation with our staff at the Advanced Center for Plastic Surgery in Towson, Maryland.

Dysport Treatment 

Dysport treatment is relatively simple. It starts with Dr. Fischer cleaning the treatment area. Then, she injects the solution into different points around the face to give you the results you’re looking for. Treatment typically takes only 10 minutes. 

Once the injections are done, you can return to work or home immediately. To maintain the results of your injections, you’ll need around 3 or 4 sessions a year.  

Dysport Recovery & Results 

For 24 hours after treatment, you’ll want to avoid strenuous exercise. Avoid lying flat for about 4 hours and massaging the treatment area. Your injector will go over all of the aftercare instructions with you. 

Results from Dysport can typically take up to 2 weeks before the results are noticeable. Results typically last for 3-4 months.
