Correct Drooping Eyelids with Blepharoplasty

Surgical Face and Neck Back to BlogIf you were to ask someone what is the most prominent feature on your face, it is likely that they are going to say your eyes. People often refer to the eyes as a window into a person’s soul. This is because a person’s eyes express how they feel. Others often say that your eyes do not lie. And that’s really true. When a person is telling a lie, when they are upset or when they are physically attracted to another person, their eyes usually give them away. There is very little that we can do to control the way that our eyes reflect our emotions.
Unfortunately, if a person has droopy eyes, their eyes may be telling a story about them that is not true. When a person has droopy eyes, they look sad, they look angry, they look worn out and they look frustrated. This is true even when the person is completely happy.
One key way of reversing droopy eyes is with eyelid surgery, called Blepharoplasty – eyelid skin removal (upper eye lift) and fat pads removal (lower eye lift). This surgery can be performed on the upper eyelid, the lower eyelid or both eyelids at the same time. Although it is a surgical procedure, it is relatively quick and the patient is able to leave our facility the same day. In most cases, the procedure is performed under general anesthesia. Eyelid surgery is one of those cosmetic procedures that can be performed either for cosmetic reasons or to help improve the functionality of a person’s eyes.
When a person goes into eyelid surgery, they’re probably not thinking about getting rid of wrinkles. However, many patients comment that their crow’s feet go away after this surgical procedure. A good way to maximize the anti-wrinkle benefit of eyelid surgery is to combine this procedure with a chemical peel or for even better results, with Dr. Beverly Fischer’s advanced facelift.
Another benefit of eyelid surgery, or Blepharoplasty, is that it gets rid of the droopy bags underneath your eyes. As previously mentioned, bags below your eyes will make you appear fatigued. You look like you’re not getting enough sleep. An eyelid lift will get rid of those bags, as well as get rid of any excess tissue you have underneath your eyes.
For some people, eyelid surgery actually improves their vision. This is because they had heavy drooping on their upper eyelids, and so the excess tissue on their eyelids actually made their eyes close. When those fatty deposits are removed during an eyelid surgery, a person’s line of sight is improved. Interestingly, many patients comment on the fact that their forehead area feels a lot more comfortable after the surgery. This is because they are not using their brow muscles to constantly open their eyes to compensate for puffy eyelids.
Eyelid surgery is one of the best ways to refresh your entire appearance. It allows your eyes to tell a story about you that is true. When people look at you, they will see an exciting individual who is vibrant, who is rejuvenated and who is ready to attack whatever life brings.
