What is Microneedling? 

Microneedling, or percutaneous collagen induction (PCI), is a non-surgical procedure in Baltimore that decreases the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks, and other issues. We use tiny needles to avoid discomfort and ensure precision in making micro-punctures in the skin, and the results can be incredible. Candidates for Microneedling

Microneedling Procedure 

One of our team at The Advanced Center for Plastic Surgery in Baltimore will start the procedure by cleaning your skin and applying a numbing cream. The numbing agent will take about 30-45 minutes to kick in. Once it does, we’ll place the microneedling device on the skin and move it around the treatment area as it makes micro-injuries in the skin.   

Microneedling Recovery & Results 

As microneedling is an outpatient procedure, you can go back to work or home right after treatment is done. Your skin may be red and swollen, but that will diminish relatively quickly. An ice pack can be used to help reduce irritation and discomfort. Most people can wear makeup the day after the procedure, but you should stay out of the sun until your skin heals. 

You may notice some results as your skin heals, but most results will show up as the collagen builds up in your skin. You’ll notice your skin become firmer, smoother, and with fewer wrinkles and blemishes.
