5 Tips On What You Should Wear To Your Plastic Surgery Consultation - Dr. Beverly Fischer, MD - Baltimore, MD

If you’ve already scheduled your plastic surgery consultation with your doctor at The Advanced Center for Plastic Surgery, congratulations! You’re taking the first step towards enhancing your overall appearance and boosting your confidence. But you’ve probably got some questions about what you can expect at your consultation – and how you should dress.

In this blog, we’ll discuss some of the clothing tips we recommend to keep you feeling comfortable throughout your plastic surgery consultation. Let’s get started.

1. Choose Comfortable & Loose-Fitting Clothes

You don’t have to “dress to impress” at your plastic surgery consultation! In most cases, you’ll be removing some of your clothing to show your surgeon your areas of concern that you would like to treat.

This means that comfortable and loose-fitting clothes are the best choice. They’re easy to remove – and put back on. So grab a nice hoodie, an old t-shirt, and throw on your favorite pair of jeans. That’s all you need!

2. Avoid Clothing With Awkward Closures

In the same vein as our first tip, you should try to avoid clothing with awkward closures – such as dresses with rear-zips, boots with long laces, and other clothing that’s difficult to put on or take off.

The reason is simple – you may have to put your clothes on and take them off multiple times throughout your consultation, or even change into a robe or medical gown. Wearing difficult clothing just increases the time it takes for your consultation, so there’s no reason to do so.

3. Wear Warm Socks & Bring A Sweater Or Jacket

Your doctor’s office is probably going to be a bit chilly. Because of this, we recommend you wear a pair of nice, warm socks. You’ll probably have to take your shoes off at some point, and you don’t want to leave your feet exposed.

In addition, you should consider bringing a sweater or a jacket to your consultation – one that you can quickly put on or take off. You can cover yourself up after you take off your clothes, or even wear it over a medical gown or robe to keep yourself warm and comfortable.

4. Breast Augmentation: Bring A Few Extra Garments

This is a tip that some women overlook when getting a breast augmentation. During your augmentation consultation, you’ll probably be given “sizers.” Essentially, you’ll “try on” different sizes of breast implants, to determine which ones are right for you!

Bringing a variety of bras, blouses, tank tops, shirts, and other articles of clothing can help you understand what your bust will look like post-surgery. This can be very valuable information when you’re thinking what size of implant you would like to choose.
