FrequentlyaskedquestionsaboutBBLWhat is BBL?

As we celebrate the start of a new year, we are often reminded of the many new years we’ve celebrated. As grateful as we all are for the many memories we have, it becomes more and more evident on the toll of our skin. The harsh conditions of life can be more than we want to handle and that’s when Forever Young BBL can help. Forever Young BBL (broadband light) therapy, also known as intense pulsed light therapy or photo facial, relies on light energy that penetrates deep into the skin to target and correct skin conditions like acne, sun damage, and other signs of aging.

This treatment sends light energy deep into the skin to boost your body's natural ability to fight aging. The amazing result is skin that's visibly younger looking for years to come.

What Does BBL Treatment Do?

When you undergo Forever Young BBL, your skin will be treated with short pulses of high-intensity light, which targets and corrects issues like pigmented lesions (such as freckles and age spots caused by sun exposure), vascular lesions (or small blood vessels), redness, rosacea, and even active acne.  It addresses uneven skin texture and results in firmer, smoother skin.

As heat penetrates the skin, blood vessels near the surface will close, reducing visible redness, and particles of pigment will slough off within several days of treatment, leaving you with smooth, unblemished skin.  The heat produced by this treatment also stimulates new collagen production, helping to heal and rejuvenate skin and restore a more youthful appearance.

Which Areas of the Body Can I Treat with BBL?

While BBL could be used to treat almost any area of concern on the body, it is most commonly used to address areas like the face, neck, chest, and hands that receive the most sun exposure and are prone to pigmented lesions and other common signs of aging.

Is BBL Treatment Safe?

Broadband light therapy is FDA-approved as a safe and effective anti-aging treatment. Unlike types of lasers and light-based treatments, BBL addresses the underlying layers of your skin where much of the aging occurs. BBL is safe for almost all skin types and has little to no downtime. Patients are able to return to normal activities immediately.

Is BBL Treatment Painful?

At Beverly Fischer, MD, your comfort is a top priority. The heat generated by this treatment is counteracted by cooling features, but we also offer a topical anesthetic for your comfort and convenience, and we’re happy to discuss other options to help you remain comfortable and relaxed throughout your treatment. This process can be completed in fifteen to twenty minutes allowing for less discomfort.

What Can I Expect During Recovery?

You can generally expect the recovery process to last anywhere from about 7-14 days.  Redness, bruising, and swelling are common during the first couple of days following the procedure, and most patients report feeling like they have a sunburn in treated areas.  Application of an ice pack and the use of OTC painkillers can help to treat any swelling or discomfort immediately following the procedures.

It is normal for pigmentation to darken before it sloughs off, revealing smoother, younger-looking skin beneath.  It is recommended that you avoid direct sun exposure during recovery and always apply sunscreen to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.  Many patients are able to resume normal activities immediately.

When Will I See Results?

You could start to see improvement within about a week, but final results are typically visible within 2-3 weeks of treatment.  It may take several treatments to achieve the rejuvenating results you crave. Most patients undergo 3-4 treatments, performed at intervals of about 4 weeks, depending on a personalized plan for treatment.

How Long Does BBL Last?

It is recommended that patients receive up to four treatments per year to enjoy optimal results, but we can discuss a treatment plan that works for you and reevaluate as needed.

How Much Does BBL Cost?

The cost of Forever Young BBL varies by the scope of treatment.  We’re happy to discuss packaging and affordable payment plans.

Throughout the month of January 2020 Halo and BBL Treatments to the face, neck, and chest are $1,800.
