What Is FTM?
Dr. Fischer uses different approaches to FTM top surgery. These two techniques include:
- Peri-Areolar (aka: Keyhole) technique
- Double Incision technique
As a specialist in gender affirmation and a top female cosmetic surgeon in the Baltimore area, Dr. Fischer and her team are experts at performing these transformation procedures and understand the emotional and physical complexities that come with them. Together, they have helped countless people make this life-changing transition.
The FTM Top Surgery Process
With the Keyhole (Peri-Areolar) Technique
The Keyhole (Peri-Areolar) technique involves performing a bilateral mastectomy to remove all breast tissue, with areola and nipple reduction when needed. This approach focuses on creating a naturally flat, masculine chest contour using minimal incisions placed around the edge of the areola (peri-areolar), resulting in a more subtle and refined appearance.
With the Double Incision Technique
The Double Incision technique involves a bilateral mastectomy to remove all breast tissue and any excess skin from the chest area. During this procedure, the nipple and areola are resized and repositioned to achieve a more masculine placement. This approach creates a natural, flat, and well-defined chest appearance, making it ideal for individuals seeking a more sculpted and gender-affirming result.
