Carbon dioxide lasers, commonly called CO2 lasers, use targeted light beams to rejuvenate damaged, aging skin. This light heats up the top layer of your skin cells, which are then quickly shed to reveal the brighter, more youthful skin that you had hidden underneath.
At the Advanced Center for Plastic Surgery, we want to provide you with the best skincare technology available, which is why we are introducing the CO2 Lutronic laser at our practice!
The CO2 Lutronic laser is the most advanced laser used in skincare treatments today. Its adjustable depth and pattern settings allow for highly customizable treatments for each of our clients. You can rest assured that we will choose only the best options to obtain your desired results.
In the past, the laser light of the CO2 lasers would blanket the entire treatment area, creating much more aggressive treatments. The newer lasers, including the Lutronic lasers, are fractional lasers. Instead of completely covering a wide swath of skin, they only cover a fraction of the treatment area.
Their pixelated patterns leave space in between the treatment “dots” where the skin remains untouched. Because not all of your skin is treated, this procedure is much less aggressive, resulting in minimized pain and downtime.
Fractional lasers, such as a Lutronic laser, apply a partial beam of light to the treatment area. The laser targets its beams in a pixelated manner that can be set into a predetermined or random pattern, depending on your skin’s exact needs. The small dots of skin that are exposed to the light are stripped off. New skin that is brighter and less damaged is then brought to the surface.
Fractional laser treatments can also be adjusted to go deeper into the layers of your skin when needed. The deeper procedure will trigger a long-term increased production of collagen and elastin, providing long-lasting results.
CO2 lasers resurface your skin to bring new skin cells up to the surface. These new skin cells have suffered less damage, including environmental damage from toxins or the sun.
If you have any of these concerns, let’s talk about how our CO2 laser can help your skin.
Healing time will vary depending on the treatment you receive. When you come in for your initial consultation, this is something that we will discuss with you. As a general guideline, however, most patients will take anywhere from several days to up to two weeks to recover from a fractional laser treatment.
Simply put, a Lutronic laser is used to resurface the skin and restore healthier, more youthful-looking skin. If you aren’t happy with the way that your skin is aging, let’s discuss the ways that a Lutronic laser can help your skin to recover from sun damage, wrinkles, age spots, and more.
