As we age, the natural progression of time begins to show, primarily upon our faces. Many years of sun exposure, gravity affecting our skin, and often the daily activities in our lives slowly change the way that our faces look. It can be discouraging to see yourself in the mirror and feel that your looks do not match how young you feel. Though your face may look older, there are several types of facelifts that can be done to help reduce the signs of aging and let your outward appearance reflect how you feel inside.

What is a Facelift?

A facelift, also known as a rhytidectomy, is a procedure done for facial rejuvenation. Concerns such as excess, sagging skin, sagging muscles, wrinkles, and creases can be corrected depending on the type of facelift you choose. While many current types of facelifts have been around for decades, recent state-of-the-art technology has enhanced these procedures offering greater options for anti-aging. The type of facelift that is best for you depends on several factors, including the results you are looking for, the amount of recovery time, your budget, and other procedures you may plan on having.

Which Facelift is Best Suited for Your Needs?

Certain types of facelifts may not be right for everyone. The benefits of each type can help you decide the best way to achieve the desired results. Here are four types of facelifts that are trending for 2023 that can help you turn back the clock and make you feel better than ever.

The UpLyft Facelift

The UpLyft Facelift is a type of “mini facelift” that is a  minimally-invasive, advanced natural facelift. Using soft sedation and a local anesthetic, the tiny, delicate face muscles are gently pulled and sculpted to create a refreshed, youthful look. It is often chosen for its quicker recovery time with visible results in enhancing appearance and boosting confidence.

Deep Plane Facelift

A deep plane facelift offers a more dramatic result because it lifts and strengthens your cheeks, chin, and neck muscles. It is also considered more invasive with a longer recovery time because it is performed under general anesthesia. The technique lifts saggy muscles rather than just tightening the skin avoiding the “facelift” look. The deep plane facelift helps you look and feel younger for many years.

The Mid Facelift

The mid facelift is an innovative procedure that gives people a younger look without the challenges of a traditional facelift. It is considered a more minimally invasive procedure, sometimes called a cheek lift. The mid facelift helps return the eye and cheek areas to a more natural, youthful position.

Liquid Facelift

You may be wondering, “What is a liquid facelift?” A liquid facelift is not a surgical procedure, but it is definitely trending in 2023. Liquid facelifts are injectable dermal fillers that are non-surgical types of facial rejuvenation that can be done quickly and easily. The liquid facelift reduces sagging and wrinkles, promoting a younger look using various types of fillers.

Some Lifts Never Go Out of Style: Traditional and Mini Facelifts

A classic full facelift, also known as a traditional facelift, is often considered for those with significant aging. It is a more involved procedure (or combination of procedures) than the mini facelift. With discreet incisions in the hairline, the skin is tightened or lifted, excess skin is removed, and facial muscles are tightened. This type of facelift includes procedures such as a lower facelift for the jaw line, and a mid facelift for the cheek area. The mini facelift is a less invasive procedure focusing on saggy “jowls” tightening the facial muscles and addressing loose skin and wrinkles.
